Serial killer, Peter Sutcliffe, nicknamed the Yorkshire Ripper, left school at the age of 15 and took on a series of menial jobs. During one spell as a gravedigger, he claimed God had spoken to him. He began his assaults on women in July 1975, using a hammer and blade. His first three victims survived his attack but the fourth, 28-year-old mother of four Wilma McCann, was killed on October 30th. He murdered a total of 13 people before he was arrested in 1981 and sentence to life imprisonment. He remains in Broadmoor Hospital-the UK’s principal secure prison for the criminally insane.
